Love, that’s all, just love

Ultimately, a wedding is really all about love: your love for each other.

Along the way you will make promises to each other, share vows of hope, commitment and joy.

During your wedding ceremony you will probably exchange rings, a visual pledge traditionally used by lovers through time. You will want to play music that resonates with your past or sings to your future, and to hear readings by friends and family.

“Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections”

At the beginning of your wedding day, as you position yourselves in front of all the people you have chosen to witness your wedding ceremony, your story will unfold and memories will be made to cherish for a lifetime together.

The wedding ceremony sets the scene for the rest of the wedding party, be it through laughter or tears of joy. A time when, if you choose to, those witnessing it can become as involved as you want them to be, not only as onlookers, but also as a great big source of oomph!

At last
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song…

And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last
– Etta James –

Your wedding day ceremony will be a treasured memory; it should shout out loud to the skies your story, your love.
I hope that you will let me show you how.

When you choose to have a celebrant for your wedding, you are making the decision to craft a one-off, unique experience. Everything you hope for can be personalised in your ceremony: the vows, promises, involvement of loved ones, even your pet!

Read my blog here on the joy of having a celebrant rather than a registrar for your wedding ceremony

I will have met you and spoken to you many times over the months leading up to your wedding day. We’ll get to know each other, ensuring that you have confidence in me to tell your story.

A Ceremony all About You

Crafting, curating, writing and being part of your wedding is the essence of my ceremonies. Between us we can decide what and how you want to make your promises and vows, and whether or not you would like to incorporate other people such as family or friends.

You may also want to add a symbolic ritual such as handfasting, a magical expression of love passed down through time. Or incorporate cultural, religious or spiritual traditions which are important to you, fusing together your past, present and future.

Unlike registrar weddings, with a celebrant you have a personal connection. You also get to choose exactly where to hold your wedding. I can hold your ceremony at any venue you desire, inside or outside, night or day, small and intimate, large and lush.

There is no need to find a licenced venue, although there are some truly fabulous ones: you can just choose where you want to celebrate.

The only significant thing you need to remember is that, unlike registrars or church ceremonies, presently a celebrant wedding is not legally recognised as a marriage.

However, a quick signing of paperwork at your local registrar’s office, no need for vows or ring exchanges, just two witnesses and mandatory paperwork, completes the legal necessities for marriage. Once that is completed, well, the rest is up to you.
