Who likes talking about themselves, especially outside of your close family and friends? Yet that is what we are expected to do at the most important ceremonies of our lives. No wonder so many people feel as if something is missing as they rush through their wedding service, saying the same old words we've all heard time and time again, the same poems, same traditional readings.
Well, perhaps that doesn't have to be the case! By having a celebrant (like me!!) you can be in charge of exactly what you want said, shared and celebrated in your wedding or civil partnership ceremony. The same freedom of choice exists with a celebrant led ceremony marking any rights of passage in life, the birth or adoption of a child, the joining of two families, vow renewals, celebratory anniversaries.
If something important deserves celebrating, it probably deserves a ceremony, fun, meaningful and moving, laughter and joy, fun and individual.
